✈️ THE TOP GUN EVENT ENDS SEPTEMBER 15
Battlefield 6 has its biggest collaboration yet, and it's time-limited. Worth having the date marked if you haven't gotten around to the content.
What the event brings
Two new two-seat fighter jets, the F/A-81F Super Spectre and the F-74A Seacat, built for team-based aerial combat. Alongside them came two new modes: Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep, plus challenges that award Ace Medals.
Why the Ace Medals matter
Ace Medals are the event's temporary currency. Once the event closes on September 15, any unspent medals disappear along with the exclusive cosmetics they unlock. That's not a minor detail for anyone stockpiling cosmetics — there's an actual deadline here, not a vague "leaving soon" notice.
The bigger picture
Top Gun's close lines up with the start of Season 4's next phase, "Tidal Strike," which also kicks off September 15 alongside Proximity Chat in REDSEC. Battlefield is running its content calendar as a series of phases handing off to each other, rather than leaving everything active indefinitely.
What's next
If you haven't tried Carrier Strike or gone hunting for Ace Medals yet, the window is closing soon. After September 15, attention shifts to Tidal Strike and everything coming with REDSEC.
