🎮 GTA VI CONFIRMED AT 30 FPS ON CONSOLES
Rob Nelson of Rockstar North confirmed it directly: there won't be a 60 FPS mode on GTA VI's console versions, at least for now.
No exceptions across consoles
The confirmation applies equally across all three consoles: PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S all run at 30 FPS. There's no "enhanced" version on Sony's more powerful hardware offering a different performance option.
The same pattern as always
This isn't a surprise looking at Rockstar's recent history: both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 launched at 30 FPS on their original console generation. 60 FPS modes came later, through updates or on next-gen hardware, not at initial launch.
The door they left open
Rockstar didn't rule out a 60 FPS mode down the line. The exact phrasing was that they'd "consult with the technical team," which isn't a promise, but it isn't a flat no either. Historically, that's exactly what happened with the two previous games.
And the PC version
When the PC version arrives, it will run on its own separate timeline from consoles, without the 30 FPS limitation that applies there.
The date
GTA VI arrives November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
