Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will let players jump into its campaign a week before everyone else. Activision confirmed that Campaign Early Access begins Friday, October 16, exclusively for players who have digitally pre-ordered or pre-purchased the game.
Who gets in early
The early access window applies to the Standard Digital Edition and Vault Edition, on:
- Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC
- PlayStation 5
- Battle.net and Steam
- Nintendo Switch 2 (pre-orders arrive later this year)
During the early access window only the campaign is playable. Full access to multiplayer and the rest of the game unlocks at global launch.
What the campaign is about
Modern Warfare 4 splits its story across two threads. Players fight as Private Park, a young South Korean soldier facing combat for the first time, as a routine mission turns into a full-scale North Korean invasion that collapses around his unit. In parallel, Captain Price operates outside the chain of command, chasing a weapon capable of shifting the balance of power and getting pulled into a conflict far bigger than the revenge mission he started.
Infinity Ward, the studio leading development, promises large-scale battles, covert missions, and combined-arms warfare across the campaign.
