✈️ TOP GUN STAYS FOR ALL OF SEASON 4
@Battlefield announced that Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep, the modes that arrived with the Top Gun event, are no longer temporary content and will stick around for all of Season 4.
Why they extended it
In the studio's own words: the community's response to the crossover "has resonated" enough that they decided to extend it. This is a real change of plans — the Top Gun event was originally announced as limited-time content ending September 15. Now, at least Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep outlast that date.
The official quote
“We're thrilled that our Top Gun collaboration has resonated so much with players that we're extending Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep through all of Season 4.” — @Battlefield
The extra detail
A modified version of Carrier Strike is already confirmed for Season 6, suggesting the mode wasn't just a Top Gun crossover experiment, but something the studio plans to keep developing as a permanent part of the game.
What this means
A studio publicly reversing its own end date because "the community responded well" isn't something you see every day. It's a signal that Battlefield is watching real-time engagement metrics and adjusting its roadmap accordingly, rather than sticking to a fixed calendar regardless of reception.
