WARDOGS, the 100-player tactical warfare FPS from BULKHEAD and published by Team17, has crossed 2 million copies sold just five days after launching into Steam Early Access.
The milestone, confirmed by the developers
BULKHEAD announced the number directly on the game's Steam page:
"2 MILLION COPIES SOLD. Thank you all. Beyond humbled. We made a game we wanted to play with friends. Watching you play it with yours has been the best. Huge launch weekend."
The game launched into Early Access on September 10, 2026, and reached the 2 million mark by September 15, a five-day run that puts it among the fastest-selling Early Access shooters this year.
The reception matches the numbers
It's not just volume, sentiment is holding up too. WARDOGS currently sits at Very Positive on Steam, with 85% positive ratings across more than 57,000 reviews.
What WARDOGS actually is
WARDOGS is a 100-player, three-team tactical shooter built around a King of the Hill-style Control Zone. Teams fight over randomized 2x2km zones, with a cash economy where every teamplay action, reviving squadmates, running supplies, holding the objective, pays out and can be spent on better loadouts, gear, or vehicles.
Key features at this stage of Early Access:
- 100 players split across three factions
- Large-scale, destructible maps with dynamic objective zones
- Cash and XP-based progression
- Vehicles, logistics, and support-focused gameplay
- Online multiplayer with proximity voice chat
What's next
According to the Steam page, BULKHEAD expects WARDOGS to stay in Early Access for roughly 1 to 2 years, using that window to expand maps, weapons, and vehicles, and to build out deeper progression and seasonal systems. Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are planned for 2028.
If you're jumping into WARDOGS with friends, Cliggs lets you stream the chaos to Twitch, YouTube, and Kick at the same time from a single OBS setup, with automatic clip generation for the moments worth keeping.
