World of Warcraft: Forever was one of the biggest reveals of BlizzCon 2026: not a remaster, not a new Classic season, but what Blizzard calls a permanent, evergreen return to original Azeroth. Senior Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, Lead Classic Designer Tim Jones, Lead Software Engineer Nora Mills, and Associate Production Director Clay Stone walked through it during the Forever What's Next panel.

Built on Classic Principles
Forever is guided by four pillars: approachable and familiar, the world as the main character, the journey before the destination, and protecting the social experiences that make Azeroth feel alive. That means no flying mounts, no level scaling, and design choices measured against whether they help players meet, group up, and make memories together, the same as it always did in the original game.
New Regions Across a World You Know
The adventure covers the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor with more than 1,000 new quests woven into the level 1-60 journey:
- Mount Hyjal — the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat, including Darkwhisper Gorge.
- Shen'dralas — a long-hidden mystery between Mulgore and Desolace tied to the Shen'dralar, Eldre'Thalas, Dire Maul, and the centaur tribes.
- Riverglades — a frontier of rivers, grasslands, and trade routes, with 150+ new quests across the mid-30s to mid-40s leveling range.
- Zephras Isle — an elemental, skybound starting zone for levels 1-12, home to the new Skyborne race.
A New Playable Race: Skyborne
Skyborne characters choose a faction at creation. Horde-aligned Skyborne lean into elemental traditions and unlock the Shaman class; Alliance-aligned Skyborne pursue an arcane legacy and unlock the Mage class. Both factions can also play Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Druid, including new Skyborne-specific druid forms.

Dungeons, Raids, and a New Battleground
Nine new dungeons bring long-discussed corners of the original world to life: the Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge, the Ruins of Lordaeron, Whelgar's Excavation, the City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold, the Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, and the Shaper's Terrace.
For raiding, the Barrow Deeps is a max-level 10-player challenge, while Hyjal Summit brings 20-player encounters to one of Warcraft's most storied locations. On the PvP side, the Darkspear Islands battleground mixes Arathi Basin-style flag captures with strategic control points in a 15v15 format.
New Systems and Player Choice
Forever adds Legacy progression for players who love leveling alts, and Camping, letting you drop campfires in the open world so other players can stop by, contribute through professions, and share buffs. On the presentation side, there's opt-in transmog, HD and SD character-model options with restored Classic animations, and official gamepad support.
When It Launches
Beta begins September 17, with the raids unlocking December 9 after launch. World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST.
Converted to Latin American time zones:
| Country | Local time (Nov 4) |
|---|---|
| Mexico | 5:00 PM |
| Peru, Colombia | 6:00 PM |
| Chile, Argentina, Brazil | 8:00 PM |
Blizzard has been clear about the pitch: this isn't a mode, a season, or another version of Classic. It's a standing promise to keep building the original world with the community, and it launches alongside Talebound and the rest of Midnight's back half, making this one of the busiest WoW release windows in years.
